“Ordering my cabin was really easy through a good website. Delivery was excellent on the week that I selected. The driver was very helpful and polite. When the lorry was unloaded some damaged components were noticed. The driver took photos and said that he would report them. I also did this. Replacement components arrived really quickly. I had a slab base prepared set up with a lazer level which is crucial. I painted the logs before building with Sadolin Classic to ensure the timber was sealed from the weather. The cabin went together very easily with exception to one long log. This was twisted like an aeroplane propellor. I reported this and a new log was sent out the next day. Some logs had some fairly severe shrinkage cracks but I sealed them with Sadolin. I constructed most of the cabin on my own up to roof level. My son then helped me with the roof timbers . The cabin went together relatively easy. We was a bit apprehensive about fitting the roof tiles but but once set out all went well. I am really pleased with my cabin. The only negative points are: The window stays & door handle are very cheaply made. I bought better replacements. The windows and doors are adjusted to fit by turning the hinges which is not easy especially on your own. The positive points are: excellent delivery and after sales service, good website, easy to build. Good company to buy from.”
“Every single aspect of this purchase and build has been a fantastic experience. Every query that we had were answered sometimes within minutes so our build was never halted. We are delighted by the final result and would recommend anyone thinking of building a cabin that they do and they can definitely do it on their own.”
“We have enjoyed the process if building our Jusitine Log Cabin. We found the youtube videos very helpful, supported by the instructions. We managed in most cases to locate any log splits on the inside of the cabin. I did place the place the door frame base the wrong way around and had to drill a new bolt hole. We painted the outside in advance as we have one garden wall close to the side of the cabin and this helped our understanding of the construction. We have experienced some damp blown in at one corner (Cornish gales) and will probably locate a batten along the main corner with sealant. Had to buy an especially long 5mm drill to drill through the bottom board and enable me to screw into the foundation beam. This was the only tool which I did not have and would be helpful to include. Had also to screw a couple of the top boards together as they were "bowed".”
“First of all I would like to say how easy it was to order the log cabin on there web site, easy to follow and plenty of photos to see what it looked like when finished. On delivery of the cabin the driver was very helpful pleasant, good manned, and skilled in doing his job with the fork lift he had on the back of his truck. On unpacking the cabin I was pleasantly surprised nothing was broken and there was even parts which was marked as extra ie:spare roof beam. More than needed flooring and the same goes for the roof. Over all I give Tuin 10 out of 10 for a excellent log cabin . Now it is up which I did myself with no complications I am very happy and would not hesitate to recommend Tuin. Thank you.”
“From order to delivery, the whole process was simple and efficient. On the day, the driver rung to give us an hours notice and then worked with us to get the delivery as close as possible to where we wanted it. The construction was simple enough, the diagram and videos made it clear on how to build the cabin. It is essential to take the time to square everything up, so not to have problems at later stages. With two people building and two people sorting the logs, we managed to get the structure up within a day. The roof panels then were done the next day. My wife then did the roofing tiles in both high wind and rain. We then finished off the floor today. We now look forward to many a happy evening sat in the cabin watching the sun go down. Our Garden faces South and the cabin looks West, so perfect for sunsets.”
“I've just unpacked my Justine Log Cabin 5 x 2.5m kit and please although one log was damaged in transit. I ordered this cabin as this was one of the few longer shallow depth cabins on the market. Although a lower mid-range price and specification all timbers were machined well and straight (I was concerned about this having read complaints about other makers!). The double glazed windows and doors are quite basic but could be improved easily. Considering that the roof shingles were included in the price I think it is good value for money when compared to others.”
“Really happy with my log cabin, delivery and the customer support. One or two of the timbers were damaged on the profile. I had arranged with my Dad to erect the building on a bank holiday weekend and only realised the timbers were damaged as we were erecting it. I contacted Tuin and they got two replacement out to me at 7am the next day so the assembly was only delayed by 3 or 4 working hours. I had spent quite a while getting a good level base which was definitely time well invested as the cabin fitted perfectly and went up quickly all level and true. Trickiest part was lining up windows and doors and getting the roof boards all square. I added 50mm celotex board under the shingles. Finding clout nails recommended length was hard, ended up using some slightly shorter than recommended but seemed to work ok. Painting took age but happy with finish. Recommend getting good paint. I used Sadolin and spent about 140 on two 5 litre tins but the finish is great - seals and protects nicely”
“Delivery went like clockwork. The driver manoevered his forklift with 5m long load down narrow lanes and up our drive to place the 'package' neatly on the lawn. Hardest part was getting the foundation beams and starter logs lined up and square. After that it was just like building Lego but needing a bit more muscle. It took me two days to finish the walls and another day for the roof. The shingles were done on day four. Not bad for a 70 year old! All that's left now is timber treatment and then I can start wood turning in my new workshop.”
