“Out of the four mattresses I've tried in the last 12 months, this is by far the best. I have found latex to be well worth the premium over foam/hybrid construction due to it natural cooling property and my preference for responsiveness and sleeping on the mattress, rather than sinking into it. As someone who struggles with pain, the ability to customise firmness has a big plus, as well.”

“I am so comfortable and so delighted with my mattress. At the beginning I wasn't sure of the size and which layers to get and Una were fantastic all the way. Their customer service was exceptional and they really helped me sort out any initial queries and issues. I would 100% recommend them both as a company and as a most comfortable way to spend your nights.”

“The Una mattress is well made, lovely quality and professionally presented. I absolutely loved the idea of being able to swap the layers around to achieve the perfect comfort, however I just didn't feel that the firm layer was firm enough. I am only 5 feet 2 inches and 48 kilos. I like a bit of support in my mattress - not a soft mattress. So I put the soft layer at the bottom, medium in the middle and firm on the top. Unfortunately it was still incredibly soft. It felt like there was no support at all under the heaviest part of my body, and too much push back on the lightest parts. I persevered, but began to get a sore back from the lack of support. After contacting Una, they offered to swap the soft layer for another firm layer, but I worried it still wouldn't offer the right support. The firm layer is surprisingly soft. We have had a few organic latex mattresses over the years, but for me the Una mattress was just far too soft - hence a 4 star review.”

Hi Alison, thanks for your feedback. Everyone is unique which is why we have made Una firmness adjustable. “I've been asked to review a double mattress but actually purchased a single one! The Una mattress was a replacement and total upgrade for a crud memory foam mattress with coil springs. I'd suffered progressively worse torture by the memory foam mattress over five years and latterly it caused me the most terrible pain in my neck and lower back. I also became hypothyroid, despite being underweight, which I blame on fire retardant, which is a known to contain endocrine-blocking chemicals. So my first night on the Una Mattress was an instant cure for my neck and backache. I had the three layers of the mattress in standard order, with the hard one at the bottom, the soft one in the middle, and the medium one on top. I did need help lifting the layers in the cover and zipping it up, and doubt that I could have managed on my own. At the same time as buying the mattress, I bought a pillow and that is heaven, too. Being a back-sleeper who occasionally likes to sleep on her side, I decided to take the smaller layer of the two in the zip-up cover and use this separately, either to provide additional height under the top of the larger pillow, or to put between my knees if lying on my side. This arrangement works excellently. I'm generally feeling in much better health and more energetic, so am hoping my thyroid is slowly recovering now it isn't being nightly assaulted by fire-retardant chemicals. I can honestly say that my Una Mattress is the best mattress I've ever had.”
