I’ve a 23 year Sonic Frontiers line stage 1 preamp. It has 3 rows of tubes , 2 tubes per row. The manufacturer states the middle row makes the most sound difference, followed by the rear row. I placed these in the middle row: Gold Lion E88CC / 6922 Platinum Grade I placed these in the rear row: Electro-Harmonix 6922 Gold Pin Platinum Grade The prior tubes were NOS Mullard tubes, which sounded phenomenal until they slowly degraded in sound then started dropping volume These new tubes sound beautiful and lots of bass extension. I’m a musician more than an audiophile, these tubes sound very similar to actual instruments, that’s the best I can tell you. But honestly, this is the best my system has ever sounded. Oh, also a Lion tube failed within 6 hours, I called stating the issue, they sent an email then a return box. I shortly received a new matching pair, which worked flawlessly Excellent service with no issues. I have been building headphone amplifiers based on a standard circuit diagram. My work has involved tweaking the circuit to make the best possible sound. The amps sound great with these Gold Lion 6922s. I was wondering if someone like Prima Luna would be interested in commercially producing this outstanding product. I would be happy to work with them (at no cost) to produce these. I believe these would be attractive to customers as they would likely cost less than some of the current commercially available tube headphone amps, but sound as good.

First time in two decades I've gone to new tubes instead of new old stock... pleasantly surprised by the fullness and punch of these Lions. Maybe not quite as refined as the NOS Amperexes I had been using, but a lot of bang for the buck.

Picked up a pair for use in tube condenser mics after one of my nice NOS Amperex went bad. These have good tone, generally smooth with a full and sweet mid range. Fairly tight on the bottom end, it’s all there, but nothing over the top, just clean bass.

Smoother than any tubes I’ve used in my Audio Research preamp. Better top to bottom.
