“I read the many reviews arguing these are the key to maximizing the Dialogue HP's performance. I understand why folks say that. Beautiful, crisp, clear, shimmering top end and high mids that you don't fully get with 88s or 120s [haven't tried 150s yet]. But in my system, there is clearly a price paid in low-mid and mid-bass richness, as well as low end power. This is clearly the best power tube I've tried for jazz, chamber, folk/acoustic, 60s pop/rock, etc. Incredibly clear and articulate. Allows you to hear deep into the mix; authentic sound staging on simpler recordings. I crank plenty of symphonic Sybellius Symphony No. 5 in heavy rotation these days] , rock, metal, post-punk, grunge, funk, etc. , where I prefer my well-broken in 120s. The GL KT77 is a great tube, but no free lunch, I'm afraid. System: DHP, Oppos BDP-205, Heimdall ic's and speaker cables, Legacy Studios, dual REL subs, AQ Niagara 1000, Shunyata Hydra, various Shunyata pcs. As always, Upscale's service was on point. Fast, reliable, perfect packaging, consistent post-purchase follow-up.”

“I bought these to replace the EL34 tubes in my PrimaLuna Amps. Great soundstage, and a clear, fast punch to the bass. Midrange is luscious and highs are controlled. As usual, great service from Kevin and crew. I would recommend these tubes without reservation.”

“A beautiful sounding power tube. It takes a bit of break-in, somewhere in the range of 50-100 hours. Plenty of bass. It's probably not the tube you want if are a lover of extremely warm mid tones. It's very nicely balanced.”
