Upgraded to Hana SL from an AT VM540ML. While it's still "breaking in", I'm approaching 40 hrs or so on this cart and can tell subtle differences from my AT, even at first listen. The AT is an excellent MM cart as many know, but I wanted to get my first MC and the Hana has not disappointed. I'm keeping the AT for backup or further A/B comparison later since my table tonearm has a removable headshell so it's easy to replace. I'm by no means a vinyl expert so have relied on expertise from others (audiophile friends and of course Upscale). The real value of my Hana purchase is from the support Upscale provided. Sean-Paul patiently lent his expertise, answered my numerous questions, and offered additional expertise that landed me toward this SL (I was originally looking at the EL). I've been nothing short of amazed at the level of support the entire Upscale staff continues to provide and they've made me a loyal customer. Thanks Sean-Paul!

Using this cart with my Rega P6 and Sutherland KC Vibe mkII phono starge. Previously used a Music Hall MMF 3.3 with Ortofon Blue cart. The Hana outperforms the Blue in all areas. But most astounding is the clarity in detail, heightened dynamics, and reduced noise. I assume that's because the Hana's Shibata stylus goes deeper into the record's grooves, nearly eliminating surface noise. Highly recommended!

Hana S Series -Low Output and my EAT E-Glo Petit work perfectly together. No background noise and tracking is amazing. At $750, this cartridge is a steal. A true audiophile phono cartridge.

Nicely packaged, exudes quality. It was easy to install with its supplied hardware on my technics 1210-GAE. Using with a PS Audio Stellar phono preamp with Audioquest Leopard tonearm cable and a PL Evo 300 integrated. With this combo, my first impression was how quiet it is in the grooves. Also has a nice refined treble and relaxed, balanced sound. It didn’t take a long time to run in but it did settle in after, say, 50 hours. It’s a great cartridge. My music just sounds right, and I am starting to understand the phrase “the space between notes” that reviewers speak about when reviewing turntable setups.
