These speakers are just as good as the reviewers have been saying. Beautiful highs from the beryllium tweeter, fantastic tight bass with a very balanced presentation. The soundstage is deep and wide and the instruments can be located by ear. They have huge dynamic headroom. My CD albums have never sounded better. Vocals are the best I have ever heard. My wife noticed the improvement right away. We just keep shaking our heads in wonder. I am driving them with a pair of Bob Carver's 350 tube mono blocks and it is a perfect match. These are my most expensive speakers. I also have a pair of KEF R700 speakers that have an excellent review from Stereophile and that perform well beyond their price point. Yet, the Focal Electra 1028Be speakers are vastly superior. These are my keepers for life and have satisfied my cravings. Even with a half price sale these cost way more than my speaker budget, but I am very happy that I bought them and they are all sold out now. The speakers were double boxed with a handmade outer box full of foam peanuts. Thanks, Kevin!

These speakers sold for years for $7,000 which was below their initial MSRP. The Kanta No. 2 is the replacement and sells for nearly $9,000. I shopped for over a year for new speakers and can tell you that for the current clearance price of $5,000 you will not find anything that comes close to these. I'm partnering them with a low power pure class A solid state amp and am blown away on a daily basis. Kevin's video review is not hype. Wow! I couldn't be happier. Thanks!

The Electras are excellent value for the money. The no bullshit review is bang on. The Sopras are also excellent speakers but the Electra is not less of a speaker, it is just different. I feel the Electra will not be around for ever as it must make buying Sopra a hard choice over these. I auditioned both seriously and the Electra was for me, the sound is good for all kinds of music and a real joy to listen to...The finish is hard to beat at this price point also. Great honest review.

This review is "Out of the Box". I am not new to audio so I am knowledgeable about speaker setup. Kevin provides you with some program material and instructions on how to position speakers. Do it, and then a little more. Out of the box I set the Electra's in the foot print of my old speakers knowing position would be close. It was, but "close" doesn't do it. Get them Spot On. Get bass first, then most forward sound in the treble and then I back my speakers up by 1/8". This slightly de-tunes the image and creates a wall of sound behind the speaker cabinets. The Electra 1028 Be is one of the best voiced speakers on the market. The drivers all blend harmoniously from DEEP BASS to beyond the top. The Beryllium tweeter is effortlessly smooth and reaches into the mid-range to unify the upper registers. This is some masterful engineering. But the sound stage is what all this is about. It is holographic! You are not listening, You are there. Focal recommends 300 hour break-in. It is hard to imagine any improvement in sound, but it will happen. This has been the best investment in audio I have ever made beside the PrimaLuna Dialogue Premium HP.
