For years I’ve been running KT88’s on my PrimaLuna Prologue Seven’s (most recently the exceptional Gold Lions, which have been the best sounding KT88’s for my amps). I just recently switch to the cryo treated Mullard EL34 tube. Clearly a very different sounding tube than the KT88’s...none the less, I love everything about their sound with my gear. Beautiful rich seductive midrange, the bottom end is really so good that I don’t miss the Gold Lion KT88’s and the top end complements the rest of my gear....and the best thing is that I can easily switch back to the KT88’s via the magic of PrimaLuna’s refined auto bias circuitry. Recommended for their great sound, for Upscale’s stringent selection processes and tube matching, and for their price. A really great value that does not compromise performance.

Pulled out kt120s from my Dialogue two and installed these. Love the midrange of them. Good resolution in middle end.

I purchased a cryoed quad of these tubes for my Prologue 2 several years ago. I love the warm fullness of the mid-range this tube has. The snap of the snare drum and real brassy sound of cymbals appear more like the real thing to my ears. Vocals and acoustic instruments are more rich and natural as well. I have the original Primaluna KT88s and a quad of Genalex KT88 copies as backups. Unfortunately, of the three sets of tubes I have, the Mullard has the honor of being the only one to fail so far. I've had them in since new with, I would say, light duty. I've been preoccupied with other issues the past two years and the amp hasn't seen much use. This year I've been able to listen for several hours a week since October. The last time I cranked up the Prologue I heard a loud popcorn popping sound from the left speaker. I looked at the amp and I could see that the second tube on the left was glowing much brighter than the rest. I quickly shut off the amp and there was no damage not even a blown fuse. The three good tubes were barely warm but the bad one was so hot I had to use the tube glove to remove it. The Mullard EL34s always ran hotter than the KT88s from the start. I don't know what the problem was, but as I said, the amp is now running fine with the Genalex KT88s back in. I really miss the Mullard EL34 sound though and will be ordering a quad of new ones asap. I give the tube five stars because I love the sound. The failure of the one tube is probably bad luck. My amp and tubes have all been purchased from Upscale Audio and have performed without trouble since new. I am very satisfied.
