As a prospective buyer of the Tungsgram tubes to go with my BHK Signature preamp, I'd find it really helpful if the comments specified exactly which tubes the owners are reporting on, ie the Gold, Platinum or BHK Special versions. Also, not everyone has said what equipment they've put their tubes into, which would be really helpful. Thanks all.

First let me say that this tube is really pleasing in my Music Hall DAC connected through a CoxAudio sculpting pre-amp connected to a stock AVA Ultra linear tube amp. The base carries good detail, smooth bold mids, pleasant highs. But what sets this apart from other tubes I've tried (many) is the extra texture and well spaced detail. The break in period is substantial 100+ hours. I do not agree with the 2 star reviews on this product based on my system, room and taste.

Like the other reviewer that give this two stars, I agree with his conclusion. It is very clear and detailed, but dry and colorless. It controls the entire frequency extreme with neutrality but everything has an antiseptic quality to it. The most unusual aspect of this tube, in which I think appeals to some people, is that it has this unique midrange punch to it. This might because of the increase in voltage over a standard 6922. The best analogy that I can think for this particular quality is gain vs. watts on a power amp. Gain has the inner push of power on an amp which is analogous to the Tunsgram punch. Whereas watts, have an outer push, or control for that matter, which is like a traditional 6922 that has a midrange that adds a tad warmth but a great tone. I would not recommend this tube for detailed systems, like my own (I use Yamaha NS-1000's). If you have a warm, but powerful amp, this might help, but overall a very strange tube.

I swapped out JNJ Gold pins for these and initially noticed an increase in clarity/detail, but a reduction in the mids (chest resonance on vocals gone). The biggest problem was that it generated very noticeable listening fatigue for both me and my wife. We couldn't increase the volume beyond 80db on tracks with brass/horns or high female vocals, it would create these spikes that induce real pain. This was a deal breaker and basically makes the tubes unusable for me. As the tube broke in some of the mid warmth returned but overall this tube was cold and the fatiguing has not diminished (125+ hours). Overall pretty disappointing given they were recommended by Kevin for my amp, but as with all tubes YOUR MILEAGE MAY VARY! AMP: Cary SLI-80 Signature

I ordered two sets of these rare tubes to replace the stock tubes in my new PS AUDIO BHK preamp and BHK 250 amplifier. Many thanks to Kevin for shipping these out quickly. Great service

Again as I said earlier in the reviews I have got some more hours on these and they are just fine. Quiet and great sound. From what Uncle Kev says about all his tubes that he sella they all are the cream of the crop in my opinion. After running these and getting more hours on these they just get better. Uncle Kev knows his stuff and in my opinion any one that is in the market for tubes and does not go here first well I think you are making a big mistake for your money. He backs up what he sells also. When he says you getting the best of the best it is absolutely true. This is where I always will go to get my tubes. Also you can call him at anytime and he will answer your questions with no problem at all.

Uncle Kev, Everything you said about this tube is true. Of course I have not broken it in yet but when I put them in my WOO amp I am telling you they made my system just seem to come alive. I cannot explain it. I think my amp really does like these and are very compatible. Thanks again for you help and advice on my questions you guys are great as usual !! People out there for the money they cannot be beat !!!! Amazing.
