“There are two types of 6922-equivalent tubes in the world. Tungsrams, and all the rest. Their signature is different from every other 6922 I've heard. I've always had one pair over the past 14 years in my Sonic Frontiers Line 1 SE. I've struggled for years to say if a Tungsram is 'better' than a good Philips or Telefunken or Mullard. But overall there's a (dare I say) musicality intrinsic to its signature that every other tube I've heard lacks. The soundstage is expansive. The bass is authoritative, but linear throughout, more naturally 'rounded' than monotonically punchy, but in no way 'bloated' or slow. The midrange is exquisite, full bodied and holographic without any forwardness or edge. The treble is also not forward at all, yet it's the most subtly detailed and extended I've heard. Dynamics are as fine as the best. Rather than blather on, I'll just say the 7DJ8 platinum MP I recently bought here are even a step beyond all the varieties of 6-series Tungsrams I've used over the years. Please sample a pair. But leave some more for me...”

“I have an EAR 868 preamp. These Tungsram PCC 88 tubes are unbelievable in this preamp ! Replace stock tubes that come with preamp with these tubes with these PCC s you won't regret it”

“These are the tubes you want in your EAR 912 or EAR 868 Preamps in all positions. They are pure perfection, neutral, quiet, ultra musical, and are a significant improvement across all frequencies over supplied stock. Get a set plus a backup set for later. You won't regret it...you need them. I tried all the other tube brands with EAR and these are the way to go.”
