Oh yeah, love these tubes. These Tung-Sol 12AX7 Gold Pin (Kevin's Stash) aren't even broken in yet, but right off the bat they made a bigger difference than any tubes I've tried before. The soundstage is the main thing, and it is the best soundstage I've gotten out of my PrimaLuna Evo 100, but don't get me wrong the PL always had a marvelous soundstage, but these Tung-Sol's take it to a whole new level. Thanks!

I bought a matched set of these re-issue Tung Sol 12AX7 tubes to replace a cheap set of Chinese tubes in a Yaqin MS-23B tube phono preamp ------- the difference was almost instantaneous ------ beautiful wide sound stage, 3D imaging and imaging that blew me away -------- they arent even broken it yet ------- I was going to go to the Gold Lion 12AX7's but I wanted a little more out of the top end ------- Excellent upgrade tubes! Kevin was spot on regarding this tube description! I highly recommend getting a matched set of these for most applications!

I installed these in the $500 Ch-Fi Nobsound NB-01P It is used between my Parks Audio phono stage and preamp to expand the stage. It uses three 12ax7 tubes in a Marantz 7 preamp design. You will find Kevin's sonic description to be right on. The stage is wide the mids are perfect and the bass is very real. I roll allot of tubes and have let these tube be for quite awhile.

I compared a platinum graded pair of these tubes with a pair of Genelex Gold Lion gold pin 12AX7s, not sorted for noise or microphonics, and obtained from another vendor. These were placed in the phono section of an all tube preamp, whose model I am hesitant to state, as I modified it quite severely. The Tung-Sols excel in spaciousness, giving a deeper soundstage than the GLs. Despite having separate L-pads for midranges and tweeter in my VMPS RM-30 speakers, there is only so much tonal correction that can be done, so I was looking for a tube with a more forward tonal balance than the GLs provided, and got them in the Tung-Sol reissues. Beyond that, these tubes provide a kaleidoscope of vivid harmonic colors across the audio band. They are the antthesis of droll and dull assosciated with the lesser of current production tubes. And, I found them to be very quiet, a desirable feature in a phono section. The Gold Lions are very strong in the bass - too much so for my system. The Tung-Sol tubes give plenty of tuneful, taut bass that integrates well with the rest of the audio band. In fairness, in those attributes where the T-Ss excel compared with GLs, the margins are not that big. Both are excellent tubes that compare well with NOS types, such as the GE 5751. And as stated many times, it comes down to system matching and user preference.
