“I have been rolling tubes in my amps for years and tried many different types and brands all giving a different flavor. I was using mullard reissues in my primaluna prologue2 integrated. I also tried the tungsol reissue regular pin and enjoyed it but liked the warmth and smoothness of the mullard reissue. I bought these for a present for a good friend of mine who has the same primaluna. For the heck of it I popped them in my prologue to see how they sounded. I could nor believe how wonderful the sounded. Compared to the non-gold pin version of this tube. The gold pin Ecc803s was smoother had a bigger sound stage side to side and front to back. Much better balance and sounded more refined and seemed to have a better flow to the music. I know some people say that the only difference is the gold pins, but the sure sound different. I am going to order a set for myself. Don't get me wrong the non gold pin version is a very nice tube for the money, but to my surprise the gold pin ecc803s tungsol is that much better sonically and worth spending the extra cake if you can. Very Impressed...”
