Everything they say they are they are. Terrific speakers with a very open, engaging presentation. Quality recordings sound spatial and deep and harsh recordings just don't hurt as much. (I don't know how Wharfdale accomplished that!) I'm used to speakers with 10" or 12" woofers, but the bass on the Lintons is deep and effortless. I don't want or need more. Although the Lintons will get loud, they are very satisfying at modest volume levels. From Thievery Corporation to Bob Marley to Joni to Dire Straits, the Lintons are fabulous. Follow Me Home (Dire Straits - Communique) is other-worldly. I'm driving them with a 45 wpc Marantz PM6007. Very nice combo!

I’ve been eyeballing these for years. I love the vintage look. (I’m 67. This is what speakers looked like when I first got into audio). I have a pair of PSB Imagine T2’s that I like a lot that I’ve been listening to for 8 years. Still, I thought these Linton’s would fit right in aesthetically with my vintage Thorens turntable and my PrimaLuna Evo200 amp. They went on sale right when I got a tax refund so I decided to give them a try. The amplification chain is McIntosh C49-PrimaLuna Evo200. Sources: Thorens TD 145 MkI, Roon server into the C49’s digital input. A touch of EQ to smooth out the bottom in my room. I listened to a variety of music. Some Joni and some jazz. At the end of Tamara Kuldin’s version of “The Nearness of You” from her 2016 album “Love, Longing, & Lullabies, I sat back as the last piano notes decayed and said, “Wow, just f—ing wow! I don’t know how they can make these at this price. I am using them with amplification that costs more than 4 times what they do and it seems appropriate.

I received my new Wharfedale Linton's from Upscale Audio 1 week ago. The packaging was 1st rate - exceptional care is taken by Upscale Audio - thank you! I've been a huge Wharfedale enthusiast for over ten years, since my purchase of their Diamond Series Bookshelf Speakers years ago. I am BLOWN AWAY by the quality and sound of these beauties. I got the Mahogany Veneer -it is stunning. After only 10+ hours of listening time, I cannot believe the sound stage, mid-range and bass response. I LOVE these speakers, Wharfedale does it...again. These must be the best bookshelf for the money.

The woodwork and finish are first class. Sonically they really surprised me with such beautiful musicality. I didn’t expect them to perform as well as they do. Love listening to them, very happy with the Linton and the service from Upscale was perfect. Four days from order to arrival, West coast to East. Thanks!

Wow, this is a lot of speaker for the money. These loudspeakers are for the music lover. They will play all the top audiophile recordings with ease and clarity but they will also play your favorite songs that may not be a top tier recording. They have delicacy, or can be powerful to match the music requirements. Solo female voice, jazz, classical, or classic rock they play it all. I have been using my Rogue Sphinx integrated with fantastic results. I haven't tried any of my 5 other amps because they just can't get any better. I have added a good sub so I can't really say how the low bass is without the sub but my sub blended so perfectly, I never turn it off. These are a good match for a budget tube system, your first system, or like me a long time audiophile that just likes music.

Thanks for the review, Russell! When we first opened up a pair of those for demo, it mysteriously disappeared and was found in one of our employee offices all set up in their work system! They really are speakers for the music lover, and rightly one of the most popular ones we sell.

Excellent, highly recommend. Upscale is fantastic -- thanks to Al for the help with the order and chatting equipment. Shipped same day, excellent packaging (although, the labels on the bags for the left and right speakers were mixed up and there was a small blemish on one of the gold speaker plugs). I'm in my 30s and fairly new to owning hifi equipment. These are replacing vintage Polk Studio Montior 5B's. I'm driving these with a 1978 Technics SA-700 (110W @ 4Ohms). I'm just loving these speakers -- fantastic resolution, soundstage, and rich, big sound -- a real pleasure to listen to. It's like "just one more song,” with the hours passing by. I read a lot of reviews before purchasing. I was concerned about the reports of excess bass or "undefined" or "flabby" bass. When placed in the corners of the room, right up to the back wall, yes -- there is excess bass. But even with this placement, they don't sound bad. Currently, I have them spaced about 6' apart, 7" inches from the back wall, 3’ from the nearest side-wall, and slightly toed in. There is a notable “sweet spot” in terms of soundstage. Alice Coltrane, Herbie Hancock, Nina Simone, The Lounge Lizards, Bobby Hutcherson, Moondog, Tom Ze, Tim Maia, Fleetwood mac, Dirty Projectors, Joni Mitchell, Robert flack, Pharoah Sanders, Gabor Szabo: all stunning — so fun. Vocals are centered, instruments spread out nicely. Bass sounds good, tight, and centered — songs like: U Can't hold No Groove by Victor Wooten, or Flight of the Cosmic Hippo Bela Fleck (bass also Victor Wooten), or Up All Night by SAULT sounds incredible (at least to me [and friends]). Daft Punk, Aphex Twin, etc etc is great. As stated everywhere, the veneer is stunning (I have the Walnut with matching stands), and the build quality is very good. I do wish Wharfedale didn’t brand the grills and especially the stands (I turned them around, so that the logo is in the back…much nicer). Overall, very happy and looking forward to hearing them with a modern hifi amp...
