It's difficult to find shoes that look great and are equally comfortable, practical AND also fit his custom orthotics. If the shoes were 1/4" deeper to accommodate a thicker pair of orthotics like his, the fit would be even better!”
“I got a pair from a friend last year. I ride a bike year round in Vancouver. The first thing I discovered is that they are very waterproof. That being said, if you are wearing socks that get wet above the shoe line, it will soak into the shoes. But the shoes themselves are still waterproof. Once I figured this out, I was able to rectify the issue by wearing Gators to prevent my socks from getting wet. I also wear rain pants. Now to give a good idea of how waterproof these shoes are in conjunction with other waterproofing gear, I rode my bike through a puddle that was more of a small Lake, and even though the water line was halfway up my calf I was still dry. I really didn't think I was going to get out of that dry. And I continued to ride for the rest of the winter before one of the shoes finally had a small leak. I'm hard on my shoes so I was quite impressed they lasted this long. I immediately bought another pair. The only issue I had with the new pair, is that they are not the same as the first pair. These ones have features for laces on them. I prefer the flat black with no accessory shoes but they didn't have any. I can see this new pair may end up with mud and debris inside the lace flaps (I don't know what to call them). But time will tell.”
