“Of these types of shoes the Vessi brand has been my favorite but there is still room for improvement. Design and color wise the shoe came exactly as depicted but I was surprised by how light they were. This is a good thing and a bad thing. It fits well but the very light soles within did not provide the arches of my feet the comfort that I was expecting. I've had a lot of opportunities that test how waterproof these shoes with all the rain New York has been getting. Were I to grade the waterproof aspect on a scale from one to five I would say they are a 3.5. Like people have shown on video, you can put an item inside the shoe, pour water on top, and the item will be dry. In everyday use however, a person's stride will leave some room around the ankle on the rear foot as it plants and then is swung to the front and on the sides. During those steps rain managed to sneak in and wet my socks anyway although probably not as much as a shoe of a different material. I would still love to see a version of this sneaker with a higher ankle to really prevent water from getting around where pants (and especially shorts) do not cover. I am having a good time with the shoes though but I can see myself replacing the interior with a more supporting sole for proper cushion to prevent that "swim shoe" feel went planting each step. Lastly, I wish there was a 10.5 or Wide fit to each side. They appear to only come in their strict size numbers. My feet are a little wider than most. That material allows for some flexibility at least so that is a plus. These are probably perfect for walking in grass and the beach though although I have not tested this with sand. I like the shoe and would still recommend but with a couple of asterisks regarding cut and comfort.”

We're happy that you're enjoying your shoes for the most part so far. We do try to our best to make the ankle opening as snug as possible to help prevent water from entering but loose enough to prevent discomfort.
We designed Vessis as a casual/lifestyle shoes which means that there's not a lot of arch support. While depending on your foot shape some people find this is great for them, others find it doesn't work as well in their case. For this reason we made our insoles are removable to allow for both custom inserts of orthotics to be used, or simply for the insoles to be swapped for something to help maximize comfort for each person. That said, we do understand there is still room for improvement and appreciate your feedback.
We are definitely hoping to expand our style and sizing in the future. Even though we don't have any concrete plans for now, we will share your comments with our Product Team.

Thanks for sharing! It is completely normal for the shoes to fit a bit tighter at the beginning as they are meant to fit snug like a sock. After a few wears the shoes will adjust and fit perfectly to your foot. Happy puddle hunting! 😊
