The Vulcan Standard 28.5 mm Olympic Barbell The Vulcan Standard is a finely crafted Olympic bar made in the USA. This bar is precision manufactured with very tight tolerances. Very minimal movement between the shaft and sleeve translates to a very solid feeling bar. Dual Oilite self-lubricating bronze bushings provide very smooth rotation and great spin. With a medium amount of whip typical for any bar below 205k tensile strength, this bar features medium sharp knurling. The knurling is exceptional for a mix of powerlifting, Olympic weightlifting, and high repetition lifting for some CrossFit workouts. “Was in the market for a specific bar and was recommended Vulcan by a friend who competes. I don’t compete and am not looking to so didn’t want to pay the big price for a bar from other places. This bar shipped before it was scheduled to and arrived perfectly packaged. Being new to understanding bars and their proper use, I was AMAZED at the spin ok this bar! My wrists are no longer killing me on cleans. Price was in my budget and it’s a good quality bar!”

“The Vulcan Standard 28.5 mm Olympic Barbell is now the most beautiful thing in my gym. I haven’t had it long, but the quality was felt as soon as I touch it. I can’t say how much I appreciate the choice of a non-black zinc coating for the same price. Coming from a powerlifting background, I was not impressed with the knurl at first (I thought I was prepared for a softer knurl, but "medium" seems a too optimistic description). It hardly felt like there was a knurl, but when I added some chalk I was glued to the bar. Well balanced, smooth rotation, tight tolerances for bumper plates and almost disturbingly quiet!”

“I ordered the 325 lb Bumper Plates and Olympic Bar Set and upgraded to the Standard 28.5 mm Olympic Barbell in Black Zinc. I had a few questions before placing my order, and the phone customer service was very helpful. The order came in very quickly. The bar and all the lighter plates came within a few days, the 45 plates took a few days longer. (Which is stated on the order page.) I'm really impressed with the quality of the bar and plates. The bar knurling has a really good feel, and it's very snappy with smooth rotation.”
