“We found they were bowed on quite a few tiles lot of different sizes so was harder to get them to fit together have worked with other ones but in another shade and different company and they were so easy to do and no areas to have to fill in as too spaced in places.”
“These are a natural slate tile, so need to be sealed prior to, or soon after fixing. On the other hand, due to the design, there is no requirement for grouting. These are very much a feature tile and I am applying mine to a fireplace, where they look great. Being a natural product, the reverse of the tile is quite uneven and so requires slightly more cement than a ceramic tile. The biggest drawback is the shape of the tile. On a large wall this would not be a problem, but on a fireplace, with narrow walls, there is a lot of cutting to be done. This cannot be achieved with a standard tile cutter, as the slate will just shatter. A tile saw must be used, making the job much more time consuming, however, the results are worth the extra effort.”
