Ledgestone Black Split Face Slate 300x150 Tiles Reviews

4.7 Rating 113 Reviews
These are a natural slate tile, so need to be sealed prior to, or soon after fixing. On the other hand, due to the design, there is no requirement for grouting. These are very much a feature tile and I am applying mine to a fireplace, where they look great. Being a natural product, the reverse of the tile is quite uneven and so requires slightly more cement than a ceramic tile. The biggest drawback is the shape of the tile. On a large wall this would not be a problem, but on a fireplace, with narrow walls, there is a lot of cutting to be done. This cannot be achieved with a standard tile cutter, as the slate will just shatter. A tile saw must be used, making the job much more time consuming, however, the results are worth the extra effort.

Very poor material. I’ve used a lot of slate products and this was some of the poorest quality I have used. It wasn’t the slate but the construction and glue used. I have used a lot of different split material and know what to expect. This did fall short and made a small job very time consuming. But your service was second to none. You are not in control of manufacture of the material. 5 star company. Thank you.

Ordered the slate wall tiles and got delivered slate chippings! The packaging was battered and over 20 boxes all damaged! However after refusing the delivery I received a phone call 1 hour later and had an apology and new tiles delivered the next day! So good and bad service!

Absolutely amazing tiles, have used a gloss sealant to give them a wet finish rather than the chalky one.
