“I bought a Flip-Clip helmet to use when I travel to places where I need to hire a bicycle, or when taking a folding bike on the train, where the ability to take a helmet makes a huge difference to my safely at the destination. The helmet really does fold to almost half size. It’s comfortable, not too heavy, and has decent ventilation if not as good as the best unfolding helmet.
Dislikes - although there is a red reflector at the rear, the helmet is black and has no reflective tape anywhere. When you order the helmet in various colours, all you get is a small coloured tab. Ideally would be good if brighter colours all over were available to enhance safety in traffic.”

On a side note the team were amazing at responding to an issue. There was a manufacturing fault that cause the straps to be twisted. Dom, one of the founders, rung me personally to sort and within a couple of days I had a new helmet ready to use! “I bought the helmet for a cycling trip in Spain. I was only taking cabin luggage and was travelling light so i wanted a 'packable' helmet. I found a couple of potential designs and was undecided.... until I found Newlane. No hesitation, the design was ingenious and it looked robust and very packable. It arrived the next day and I was even more delighted when I opened it. It is a very solid but light and package helmet.
Excellent strap adjustment to give a snug fit, great magnetic clip on chin strap that is easy to use but also safe.
I'm on day four of my cycle ride in Andalusia, cycling 4 to 6 hours per day in 20 to 25 degrees across mixed terrain, tarmac, tracks, forest tracks and badly damaged bridle ways.
Helmet never moved, sunglasses fit well.
