“I love the quality of this parasol. It feels really sturdy and solid and you can move it in various different angles. I’ve seen and felt others that feel really cheap but this one is great quality. I bought the cover to go with it and at first I couldn’t get it to fit but customer services team were brilliant. The sent a video and it all fell in to place. “This just arrived and was very easy to assemble -- it took less than five minutes. A great start.
But it's in minute six that you'll start to see the problem.
Fully extended, this parasol falls over. Half way extended, it falls over. If it's positioned at the lowest centre of gravity it will stay upright, but it will look like you have an enormous satellite dish in your garden. And then, if there's even a slight wind, it will fall over.
It will NOT fall over if you stand on the base. So provided you stand on the base it's perfectly fine. But you're going to get bored pretty quickly, and resentful. You're going to start muttering bad words about the people who sold this to you.
So my advice is BUY A BASE.”
