Not good with dry corks

I've had several of this type of opener. They used to last longer, but not so much any more. Also used to be easier to hit the center of the cork. Seems the more recent models allow some tilt to the mechanism. We'll see how long this one lasts.

This is the best wine opener I have ever used - lightweight but very effective in removing the corks.

I bought this Electric Wine Opener for my sister who is about to undergo hand surgery. Now she will be able to open her favorite Chardonnay without having to wait for a visitor. She has already tried it and absolutely loves it!! So much so we are purchasing one for myself and also one for my niece to add to her shower gift for her wedding. Great, fun and functional purchase/gift for any "Wine Enthusiast".

Hope it lasts--the plastic inside looks a little flimsy but no trouble yet.
