“Once you figure it out, it takes a little time; but, is easy to assemble. Supplied with a 5mm Allen wrench; but, having two is much better. A mallot is also handy to drive some of the rods through the wood blocks on the bottom of the shelves (tight fit).I bought these to go in a wine cellar so the finish is not that important. I would not buy the mahogany finish to go on display. The finish is more like a light purple paint than a stain.Large diameter bottles like Pinot Noir do not fit well; side to side spacing is an issue. I did not put more that 2 Pinot bottles side by side, put a regular size bottle in the third space.”

“Getting the bottom row or two of shelves started was a bit of a balancing act. It would be a breeze with 2 people. Some of the shelves did not easily slide onto the metal supports. I had to use a wooden mallet to hammer the metal rods from below up into the groove in the shelves about 25% of the time. Basically the grooves under some of the shelves were a bit to narrow for the metal rods to easily slip into. The spaces fit all but a few of the really wide wine bottles. If there are say 4 or more of these bottles in a row a space needs to be left or the necks of the bottles start to get skewed. This is not really a big deal as most bottles fit perfectly!Overall, I don't think you could find a better wine rack for the money. It is very rich, attractive, and quite sturdy. I have it in the basement on carpet and it a few short of full. I thought I would need to anchor it to the wall to make sure it could not get knocked over. The rack is so solid and sturdy this was not necessary. There is no way it could topple accidentally. I highly recommend this one!!!”

“The slats on the shelves are not set wide enough apart to accomodate wider bottles such as many Pinot Noir, Champagne and Chateauneuf du Pape. Although the slats have mitred edges designed to cradle each bottle, collections of the above mentioned wines end up resting on top of the slats. I now have 2 shelving units from WE and 2 from [...]. Only the first one from [...] is designed properly. One would think a company specializing in wine would get it right. Until then, I will have to accept that this is the best one avaiable.”

“This wine rack is definitely top quality! We purchased the natural wood and it's just as beautiful as if it were stained! Completely stable on its own and the bottles fit nicely and rest secure on each shelf. Each rack can be secured to another and anchored to the wall for extra stability (though we have not yet felt the need to do that). We love the tall storage racks because they seem to hold more bottles efficiently.”

“We got this unit to expand our storage beyond a similar one purchased several years ago. The newer version is even studier and more attractive than before. While this rack is more utilitarian than a fashion statement, it is none the less good looking and well made. Its simple and straightforward approach is great for our cellar storage area.”
