Beautiful Burgundy glass. I first learned about it from a Wall Street Journal article where it earned . I was skeptical until I actually tried it. I don't think there is a better Burgundy glass out there unless you spend hundreds on a Baccarat crystal. Not sure Baccarat glass will improve your wine drinking experience though. Zalto glasses will. They are exquisite. The only downside is the fragility of this wine glass. Very, very fragile.

The Zalto Denk'Art glasses are consistent with our expectations. They are by far the lightest glasses we own, yet they seem quite sturdy. They do compare favorably with other glasses we use, but the differences are fairly minor. We have decided to hand wash them vs. putting them in the dishwasher. On balance we are pleased and would purchase them again.

I was a big Riedel fan but the Zalto take wine glasses to a new level.

These aren't wine glasses they're amplifiers. I love them, the weight of the fluid swirling in the glass, the delicate edges, thinness of the rim, the opposite of a great scotch glass. But they're very spendy and as fragile as they look.

There is a lot of hype when it comes to the Zalto wine glasses. The question becomes does it live up to its hype and compared to what? There are a few “reviews of the Zalto's to be found on YouTube, but most are incomplete and not useful. There is a comment about how the glass is very light and how it looks, completely ignoring what it does to the wine inside the glass. Prior to this, I had no idea that one had to be a weight lifter to use a Riedel glass. However, the lightness factor has also hit the Riedel who have their own version of a lighter Sommeliers glass. Another review compared it to the Riedel Vinum Burgundy glass that cost half as much as the Zalto Burgundy glass. So how does the Zalto Burgundy glass compare against a Riedel Sommeliers Burgundy glass that cost about 2X the Zalto? One answer is that if one is going to gulp the wine in 5 minutes or less, than perhaps the Zalto may show the wine better as one wine producer said that he only serves his wines in a Zalto. Give the Riedel Sommeliers some time and there is no question which shows the wine better. But this can also depend upon one's preferences because the Zalto can show a thinner bodied wine that maybe more minerally. The Riedel Sommeliers shows the same wine as a much more rounded wine that has a noticeably better finish. The wine is denser in the mouth in the Riedel. One drawback of the Riedel Sommeliers is that there are so many different glasses for different grapes and wines. That can be costly. A good all-around glass might be the Zalto Burgundy. But if one wants the most out of a wine (that is, pleasure and enjoyment), then go with the Riedel Sommeliers series.
