I appreciate the quality of Whiteside bits. I right this carbide pen mill would provide clean cuts on the ends of pen blanks. Unfortunately, I couldn’t get it stop chattering and making poor cuts. The 4 cutter carbon steel version makes super clean, smooth cuts.

Great purchase. Used it to trim several deer antler 10mm blanks and it did it with no effort!

Went through two of the four blade pen mills. Upon recommendation by a staff member, I bought the two blade carbide mill. Goes through wood and synthetic blanks like a hot knife through warm butter.

This review is for the 2 blade carbide version. After using the 4 blade HSS version that requires sharpening, and has some difficulty going through dense hardwoods, I purchased the carbide cutterhead. What an improvement over my older HSS head! This head cuts clean and fast through all the acrylic and wood pen blanks that I have used it on. I would definitely buy another one.

I purchased and used this yesterday. Going slow as recommended by positive reviewers, I am extremely happy with this tool. It cuts very fast and I had no tear out. I even used it on one blank that I forgot to trim before turning! It does not fit a 7mm reamer (dumb), but 11/64 (I think that's what it was) is close enough.

does not fit the reamer that comes with the Rockler beginners set. What size shaft do I need? no one seems to know and it doesn't tell you on any info I can find with the product. Why don't they say somewhere what size shaft it takes?

Won't work for 7MM blanks. Leaves the brass tube proud. I recommend disc sanding first and trimming the 7MM blanks with the steel cutter. Looks like they would have stayed this in the product description.
