This is a great easy project! Though the plans are a little sketchy but easy enough to figure out. The kit should include extra wire.

I bought two of the Crome cheese slicers. Firstly, you have to whittle away at where the wire connects to the handle in the wood groove. Seems like a poor engineering after thought. Secondly, the wire seems either too short or the handle is bent too much. Thirdly, the handle that holds the wire is cheap plastic. I will never buy these again. Not sure if other brands are better, but after thinking this was going to be a quick project I’ll never make another one. I’ll buy a preface one on Amazon

I purchased two, whom ever designed this and wrote the directions is in the wrong profession. Just a difficult object lesson. Find another option! There's a reason it's been marked down 40+%.

Very poor quality. The "set screw" is in fact just a small wood screw, 1/16" to 3/32" too long to allow it to be screwed all the way down. After filing it to make it work I did get it assembled well enough to be used as a gift. The next morning the wire has stretched to the point it wouldn't cut anything. Plan was to build 10 or so to give as holiday gifts. Will have to come up with another plan.

The handles are plastic, which I feel should have been made clear in the listing, now I won’t be able to charge as much since the first thing people touch feels cheap.

Makes very nice small cheese board. The wires are the correct length to work correctly. Just need to try different approach if having problems getting them to reach.

well i got the large kit on sale brought one black one silver , ok the only thing wrong is no matter how i tried to hook up the wire. it seems to be around a 1/4 inch or a half inch to short. other than that its a nice little kit. i will be making my own wire for the cutting part .

Easy to make but be aware that the instructions are inaccurate for the large board. They say to drill the hole 3 7/8" deep for the hardware. To do that, I broke out my brace and but to be able to get the last half inch only to discover the 2 7/8" listed for the small board would have been more than enough. Another tip, if you are going to round over the edges of your board with a router, do it BEFORE drilling the hole as the guide bearing will dip into the hole leaving an irregular edge. All in all, it is a good kit and easy to make. I made 9 as Christmas gifts for my family from walnut my late dad had in his collection
