I took the intro to bandsaw class with Drew. He is an experienced woodworker and a good instructor. The course covered the user's options for saw sizes and types for different applications, as well as the setup of the machine itself, including installation of the guards and adjustment of the tension of the saw within the machine. He also covered basic safety information and techniques for use of the saw from a theoretical standpoint. My only suggestion for this course would be to have the students practice use of the machine by making cuts, however, it was a great course overall.

I took the three part course on cabinet making with the Kreg system. Dan was a very patient instructor and I learned a great deal from taking this class. I now feel confident enough to start several projects that I have been dragging my feet on at home.

I took the class on making a 3-legged stool, taught by Rex Hansen. He was a great teacher, and the stools were lovely! In this 2-night class, we used at least 6 different types of tools, including a lathe, bandsaw, jigsaw, planer, and belt sander. We put the finish on ourselves later (apart from class), and Rex gave us several ideas on types of finishes. I was really happy with how mine turned out!

I have taken several classes at Woodcraft, band saw basics, intro to the lathe, segmented bowl turning, box making and Christmas ornament turning. My skills have stepped up tremendously (IMO). Classes are informative, hands on and easy to ask questions and learn. Louis is a great instructor and has a lot of tips & tricks. Best part is the entire staff is there to help. They are always willing to help whether it is questions on wood, tools, glueing etc. Christmas ornaments are turned similar to making pens. I had never done that before and when I completed the class they had all the tools I needed in stock to get started at home!! Bonus you get a discount on purchases the day you take classes! I have several other classes on my list to take to continue my learning.

I took the ornament making/lathe introductory class and I was blown away. The instructors were absolutely incredible and I learned a tremendous amount. It was a very fun environment to learn in, able to ask lots of questions and get guidance when issues arose. I will be taking future classes at Woodcraft! And their dogs were absolutely adorable!

I’ve now taken 2 classes with Louis, bandsaw boxes & turning Christmas ornaments & couldn’t be happier with both. His teaching style is wonderful and very helpful to me in the advancement of my already advanced woodworking experience. He teaches methods & safety principles in a way that is easy to grasp and take with you to employ in your own shop. I’m already planning on taking more classes with him and can’t recommend Woodcraft classes highly enough.

I took the woodworking 101 class. The instructor was very knowledgeable and very helpful in explaining each step. It was a fun class, and I walked away with the knowledge I needed to get started on my own. I would highly recommend this class if you are interested in getting started with woodworking. Great 101 class.
