“I believe in getting a calibration every year or so. They returned the unit in a few days. BACtrac should Email their customers every year to remind them to get a calibration.
Overall......it's a lot cheaper than a DUI!”
“I bought a BACtrack keychain breathalyzer and was very happy with it. However over time the accuracy of the readings started looking a bit off so I did a bit of research and found that the unit may have needed to be re-calibrated. Since it was less than a year old BACtrack took care of this under warranty. Turnaround time was pretty fast and I got the unit back and working like new again. Thanks guys!”
“I've had the S80 model for 2 years now. Bought a second unit as a back up. In my opinion you need to at least blow into the device every week or two in order to keep its sensor from drying out. I've also found I need to send both mine in for calibration about every 6-8 months with weekend use only.
This device is extremely accurate, and has kept me from driving many times when I thought I was bellow the limit. If your serious about wanting to know your BAC reading, invest in one of the nicer models, the accuracy is reassuring.”
“I purchased this over a year ago from Amazon I believe, anyhow recently it had stopped working (I think some of my friends were using it casually, not waiting 15 minutes before blowing, etc.) and that caused the accuracy to decline eventually reading 0.00 when there was no way that was correct. Sent the device in for a re-calibration, hoping that would fix it... and these guys sent me a Brand new unit ! Very happy, great company, and would recommend to anyone.”
