“I would not mind recommending this product to civilians but it does concern me that when I I sent by units in for calibration they had to replace five of them for a unknown reason which I speculate being they could not be calibrated and they were only two years old. I would not recommend them to Kansas Law Enforcement Agencies as the Kansas Department of Health and Environment does not have Bactrack on their approved list of PBT for Law Enforcement Officer use. I have had to by Intoxilyzer and have now donated the Bactrack to the local high schools to help fight teenage drinking in the schools. I have gave them your info for when they need to have them calibrated as I only did it prior to the donation.”
“The organization I work for bought one a while back and nobody knew exactly where. We started getting goofy readings, indicating it was out of calibration. I ordered a new one and sent the old one in for calibration and got it back in about 2 weeks give or take.”

“This is a very useful breath testing device. Unfortunately there is a fundamental problem in that when the fuel cell fails the instrument fails to indicate to the operator that it is not working, The digital readout indicates a 0.00 even when alcohol is present. This, as I found, can result in a "false" negative..
I would recommend a hand held gas calibrator, or even a check by using an alcohol mouthwash to validate that the instrument is working. Particularly following a 0.00 reading.
I appreciate the good customer service and ease of re-calibrating, and in my case replacing the instrument. I hope your engineers can figure a fix that would trip the display to indicate that fuel cell is not working or provide some guidance for operators.”
