“I've been a book designer for 40 years now, so when the Paula Scher BBC Maestro Class came across my Facebook feed I was intrigued. I've had the pleasure of hearing many well-know graphic designers speak, and they've all been articulate, funny, intelligent, and charming. Paula Scher is no exception in this class. She shares her wealth of knowledge and experience in an honest and down-to-earth way, never seeming snooty or self-involved. I learned a lot from this class, and grew to admire Paula for her love of typeforms. Her class notes include a robust list of books to read, and TV shows and movies to watch.”

“This is not really diving into the nitty gritty of graphic design it's more a historical overview with a few examples of her own work. The insights to her own working practice are fairly minimal and often there's interviews with collaborators. Maybe Scher just doesn't like the limelight.”
Hi,
Thanks for your review. We value every BBC Maestro customer, and really value your feedback.
All courses have detailed course notes to accompany them, which a lot of learners find really useful when watching a course, especially when completing the course exercises. Paula's note include lots of exercises including trying to design you own font and creating your own poster which hopefully you'll enjoy and will help you to get more out of the course!
I hope this helps, but feel free to contact our amazing customer service team at support@bbcmaestro.com if you would like more support!
Best,
Rebecca

“As someone who struggled to understand the hype over Fonts I found Paula's course enlightening. The whole idea of design never struck me as interesting in the least. But watching this course really opened my eyes to a world I didn't know existed. I've really enjoyed this course and learned a lot. Thank you Paula.”
