“Course is really clear. Concepts and philosophies are articulated in a really clear way.
I learned two really useful things from this course that will really impact on my writing (considering how to layer multiple revelations within the ending; and constant cyclical revision going back in loops within the revision process) and some that may in the future (e.g. merging multiple story ideas into a single story). Many other aspects of what was taught fitted well with my own approach so I guess I was attracted to a teacher who matched my own mindset about writing.
I'm not a thriller writer or a big thriller reader, but the mindset was enormously useful to get into, because it lays fundamental things bare that are often hidden in other kinds of books, so its been very useful to my writing to reflect on the approach.
The course is consistently positive without being unrealistic.”

“I like the lessons about how to create ideas of writing. Very much! Very concrete tips. The rest of the course is excellent. I am not a fan of Coben´s books, but admire his ability to create twists, questions, unexpected events. Great experience.”

“Harlan is a pre-eminent writer of thrillers and is able to break them down into the integral (and bleeding over) parts. He's clear, concise, and provides numerous examples, mostly from his own novels, which is extremely helpful. He's also self-depracting, honest, and open about himself, his life, and his work, and shows how they interrelate. As another Jersey Boy, I'm incredibly impressed and grateful!”

“Excellent course. Cuts straight to the point and explains why a lot of "rules" about writing are not true. It gives you loads of practical writing tools. "Tools not rules!"”
