“I need to begin by saying that I've never read a book by Agatha Christie; this shapes my opinion. However, I have watched the Poirot Collection on DVD, which I thoroughly enjoyed.
The BBC Maestro course let me down. I thought the Agatha Christie character was just a "talking head." Although she was a "real" human, only her head and occasionally, a hand or finger, moved. Why not have a real actress who would touch her face or smile?
The course would be excellent for fans of Agatha Christie. I had no idea what she was talking about when she mentioned characters or plot. The amount of information about writing, my main reason for taking the course, was minimal and not very helpful”

“A well crafted course. The course shows a high level to detail, while keeping it engaging and not distracting. The acting, setting and scripts are wonderfully design showing how much love and dedication was poured into this project.”

“Agatha Christie was not as a writer honest with the reader. In more than one occasion the lead investigator went somewhere and discovered something that was known only to him/her, and revealed at the very end to the reader. The course did not reveal anything. Some ideas but nothing extraordinary and I doubt that even the ones mentioned were really from Agatha Christie. A theatrical play more than a course. Of course for the fanatic of the genre it is difficult not to attend it”

“I wondered if all the expense allocated to AI voice and facial expression may have detracted from the plausibility of the lessons, venturing into the world of cartoon character.
Given that we are all conditioned to accept actors playing famous people: Cillian Murphy as Oppenheimer, Jesse Eisenberg as Mark Zuckerberg, Leonardo di Caprio as Howard Hughes, etc. etc., I would have preferred to see your chosen actor portray Agatha Christie without the dubbed mouth and static face.
Just my opinion, but after taking more than half a dozen BBCMaestro courses, I was left a little disappointed by the unreality of it all.”
“I think they did a great job here. I was skeptical as to the AI aspect, but I thought they pulled it off very well and the course was informative. AI presents a lot of challenges, but this is a productive way to use it.”

“This is a wonderful tribute to a great mystery writer, Agatha Christie. I enjoyed the journey through her mystery writing thinking. However, I did not find it as useful for the craft of writing. The presentation could have been more creative with some time-travel using modern technology.”
