“This is a fantastic course, im working on a novel and anything to do with writing im interested in. I found Malorie interesting to watch and the way she explained each section is simplistic, no fluff, just start here and build to there process. I was constantly drawn to her. Her humour was great and her tips for how to do things rather than just talking were so helpful and now using them myself. If you're interested or new to writing, Malorie's course is where you need to start.”

Nonetheless, Malorie's enthusiasm and encouragement are really what made the course for me. She makes you feel empowered and capabable to write your stories.”

“She has been the best presenter out of the dozen or so I have watched. She's joyful. You like her. But, through no fault of her own, it wasn't very helpful. I was most interested in her thoughts on plot and pacing and story structure. She shows an app she uses and then hurried right past it. I wanted to know exactly how she used it. But I recommend her. I may just be a little further along than the beginning writer.”

“It's good but very basic - plot your story, let characters drive it, show don't tell. If you've read a book on writing or done any previous courses then you know this already”

“I initially signed up for MasterClass, but found that the “classes” were more like interviews rather than actual courses. They were very disappointing.
I have not finished this course yet, but so far Mallorie Blackman is an excellent instructor. I’m really looking forward to trying more of the courses offered by BBC Maestro.”
