Hi,  Thank you for getting in touch, The wall plugs are actually designed to be shorter than the screw. When drilling the hole in the wall you will need to make sure that the hole has been drilled to at least the length of the screw, rather than the wall plug. I think this should solve your problem, We can send you new screws or wall plugs if they have been damaged whilst you have tried to install them, if that will helps :) Kind regards Nicole
