“This is my second Fly12, the first being retired after about 5 years and being dropped at spedd a few times. The battery life is greatly improved and the unit is smallerand lighter. I've quadruppled my storage to 128mg and this suits the length of my rides. It is so convenient having the light and camera in the one unit.”
“this is to replace stolen one. the thing i really like is that the mic is more sensitive and you can get fuzzy protectors to reduce road noise but keep speeach clear. I can now narrate videos while i ride and not have to yell at camera.”
“Cycliq replaced an older device (free of charge) that would mysteriously and repeatedly turn itself off, even when the battery indicator showed 2 or 3 bars. The new one has outstanding battery life. The imagery is quite good too. I am really enjoying it. Customer service from Cycliq was excellent.”
“This is my second fly12 the first was replaced under warranty after 2 years. I also own a Fly6 Cycliq after sales service and warranty is exceptional and I would recommend them.”
“The only problem I've had with the unit is the design of the buttons. All of the buttons feel the same and are located right next to each other. This makes them difficult to operate, particularly with a gloved hand. The designers should take a cue from aircraft designers - the control for flaps and for landing gear are not only different shapes but located far enough apart to keep them from being confused. Can you imagine if the switch for the ejection seat was located right next to the landing gear switch and was the same shape? An accident waiting to happen. In the case of the Fly12, I find myself turning off the unit when I meant to just take still or lock a video segement with the Q button. At least they could put the "Q" button all the way at the back edge of the device instead of between the other two buttons.
This is what I refer to as "a product designed by people who've never used it". BTW, I was the designer of hundreds of very successful consumer electronic products for a major international corporation as well as simulator systems for the military.
Everything else on this product gets an A+ and would get 5 stars if not for the button issue.”
