“It does what it says on the box and is very easy to switch on and use before starting your ride. The battery also last for the duration of my rides which can be 5/6 hrs”
“Good light and camera with great battery life. Fit is a bit tight on gopro connection and you need to apply force to snap the camera on but it sits solid once locked on”
“Smaller than expected but really neat. For the price expect a few more Mounts , if you have more than one bike. Also why are extra mounts so expensive?”
“Video quality is good, although still far behind the likes of GoPro. That said, it is usually good enough to read licence plates under most circumstances, which is basically "good enough for what it is meant to do". Features like HDR or high framerates are kinda pointless, because they are only available at low resolutions or because they disable image stabilisation. Additionally, the 4K mode has worse image quality than just going with WQHD resolution (the bitrate is almost the same, meaning you get more compression artefacts and an overall worse picture), but in return, the WQHD image quality is a noticeable step up from the previous Fly12.
My Fly12 had a defect after about 8 months of use (one of the locking tabs broke off from the camera-side of the mount, necessitating a replacement of the entire camera - making such a part subjected to wear and tear easily replaceable would improve the design MASSIVELY), but Cycliq support was fast and helpful (answer times were typically less than a day, although delayed due to time zone differences) and my replacement unit arrived about a week after I reported the damage.
Overall, a recommendation from me if you're a cyclist in day-to-day traffic with lots of car interactions. If you live in a place where the justice system doesn't care about cyclists, save the money.”
“My replacement is still very low volume, no matter what I do. There is not really useful mounting options for anything other than road bikes. Footage is excellent, even in the dark. Good enough to pick up numberplates.”
