“Bought a Fly12 Sport as a replacement of my Fly12 Mark I which has stopped working correctly. Picture quality is top and battery life very good (I would have prefered the size to remain a bit larger for the battery life to be even longer). Function button and screen are good (would have like to be able to change video format without the app, and would have prefered the battery left to be in % instead of just 4 big unprecise bars). Disappointed that the Strava overlay function has a bug and no ETA is provided for fixing. Overall a very good, but pricey, product.”
“Still getting used to the camera. Had some trouble fixing it to be clear of brake cables and finding room on the handlebars. Been on 3 rides, two with rain, one very wet. Fly 12 sport showing condensation inside the light lens. Have to see if the water ingress damages the camera. Front of camera does catch the rain a lot, will try to lower the angle from horizontal and to include front wheel in field of view. Not sure what video setting is needed to be sure of catching number plates. The documentation would helpfully give some guidance in this respect. Battery capacity seems OK. Will carry a power pacj to recharge at midday - usually ride for several hours. Fly 12s documentation on charging is confusing - the charge light does not go green, the Fly12s turns itself off - presumable this is full charge although when it turns off the rear LED still shows one bar blank. Not cracked how to set the time from a computer (no phone suitable for mobile app) - synching clock only seems to apply after FLY 12 removed and restarted - so at moment I am 3 minutes out on the correct time - have to wait for Windows to eject the USB device. Software crashed on mac (Catalina - no mac OS version compatibility information on the Cycliq website).”
“The camera is great and battery life is good. The only think I wish it had is real time capabilities. I’d like to be able to see the video w/o having to remove the SD card and downloading it in my PC. It seems that it could have been developed w/ Bluetooth capability so that it can be reviewed real-time.”
“The smaller firm factor is great. The interface, less so, the OS, even less. Although I formatted the card, and got a message on the device to that effect, plugging it into my Mac showed I had no recording after a ride. Connection with the app on my phone gives me even different info. Does it actually work? Unclear at this point. I hope to determine that this week.”
“It is a terrific product. I think you should make fluoro gillets with a picture of a camera on the back with your logo and the words -- your driving is being recorded. We need drivers to know they are being recorded if we actually want them to change their behaviour.”
