This bag is absolutely perfect, I got it for commuting to work with a 15in laptop, going to the coffee shop to work, traveling abroad, and bike trips to the farmers market. This bag is big enough to fit everything without being bulky. It’s minimalist and stylish but the build quality is durable and feels great! All in all this bag is a step above the rest and everyone I tell about this bag is amazed that it’s made from recycled bottles. 12/10 stars, bravo dayowl

By far my my favorite backpack. Between the design, pockets, the look of it and the fabric. It’s perfect! Very light as well even when I fill it up with stuff!

“Let your words run free” you say? Okay. Here we go! I spent hours researching backpacks. HOURS I tell you. Somewhere in the researching, an instagram ad showed me Day Owls - and I’m skeptical about ads on socials but I loved what I saw and researched the company and reviews and all of the above- and then sat on the decision for a few months while still researching around.  I’m not neurotic, I am picky and tired of buying backpacks I end up hating.  I was looking for a backpack that would double as a school backpack and a travel backpack - I’m in professional school to become a dentist so I wanted it to look nicer than the school-aged backpacks (as Day Owls say - look like an adult) and we travel with the bare minimum/carry-ons only.  All that backstory being said, this is the one. I am so utterly satisfied with my purchase I will continue to cheer about it from the rooftops. I haven’t been back to school yet (thanks COVID) but I’ve packed my Day Owl up with all of my school stuff - 17” MacBook, iPad Pro+it’s case, chargers, a 600 page novel, my instrument carrying case, sunglasses, water bottle, hair ties, iPhone 11+it’s case - I shoved them inside their designated pockets and still had room to place my lab coat.  More on the specs: The pockets went above and BEYOND my expectations. They are perfect. The phone pocket, sunglasses pocket, water bottle neoprene pocket, the front pocket - they are perfection. The water bottle pocket fits my Tervis bottle just fine.  The laptop pocket fits my 17” MacBook without scuffing the edges with the zippers and the bigger pocket can fit my 17” laptop + it’s protective padded case for the days I feel like it needs added protection (along with most of the other stuff I mentioned too!) The material this backpack is made out of is heavenly. If you made blankets out of the inside of your backpacks, I’d probably buy it. The recycled nature of the material also makes me feel like I’m not contributing to pollution so that’s a nice feature.  The packaging was so adorable that my dog ate the box. I’m not sure if those two things go hand in hand but he thought it was a toy and it made him very happy.  Rambling coming to an end, this.is.the.best.backpack. 10/10 would recommend

I've been duped by Instagram ads before for backpacks that look nice but ended up being very poorly made. This backpack is great. Lots of different compartments which I love and It's also very high quality.

I really like that its made from recycled bottles. It's lightweight. It's cute. But it is very small. I know there is a large size, but I think It's only bigger by 2 inches (?) in one direction. Lots of pockets, but all these pockets are internal, so really you get less space in the main area of the backpack as you add things to all the pockets- which keeps it looking nice and compact though. Just something to think about.

Things I love: 1. Sustainable production and repairable product 2. Well constructed and durable - and the waxed canvas has a great feel to it (as does red leather trim) 3. Minimalist style - pockets are all integrated and well-placed so the pack has a sleek look even when packed full - I love that the straps don’t hang down too! 4. It stands up on its own - and lies flat and zips open easily to pack 5. I was thrilled to discover the hidden small zipper pocket on the side opposite the water bottle pocket - it fits my iPhone 11 in it’s Otterbox case - just barely, but it fits. I also like the pockets on the back/bottom of the main compartment - one perfectly fits my large but flat wallet when I want it secure One thing I wish is that the outer pocket was a little deeper - I can barely get my wallet in there when I want to have easy access. I also got the pouch - originally for laptop cord and mouse, but I think it will be great for other things too. A wonderful and innovative product!
