“I use the FB 2 Pro with my 18 inch Kamado Joe and the blower accessory. It holds temperature rock steady for as long as I need. The battery seems to last a long time, even with the blower attached. I usually use a solar portable battery power source with it, but I don’t think it’s necessary. I have done several 12 hour cooks with this setup and the FB performed flawlessly.
The iPhone app works great so that I can monitor the cook while I attend to other things and it also works with the watch app. Also I like the standard K type thermocouples which are quick, thin and accurate. I have recommended this setup to my friends that smoke meats.”

“Oh Lord, I haven't even used my Fireboard yet; just got it today, and unpacked it, set it up and its' charging. I wanted to get this out there because at this time of the year, I know people will be looking; and I am initially so pleased with my purchase I hope I help someone else. I'm older and have never had a smoker, just a grill. I became aware of the WIFI Temp gizmos, when I selected the new grill, without the temperature module built in. I decided to buy something hopefully better and more versatile. I read up on 1 other American made model, where I already own their instant thermometer for cooking and actually a body temp probe also. Another popular Chinese model, I also considered, and I have one of their aquarium's monitors, that I've been pleased with. However, I picked the Fireboard Pro model because it had thin probes, and we like to make seafood and I thought that would work; also, the thermocouple technology, and heavier heat range of the pro version were deciding factors. I was unsure if I should order, after reading a review by a dissatisfied owner, but then went to Fireboards website, and watched a video by the owner /founder Ted Conrad, about Fireboards technology, and felt great confidence, that the company wishes to do the best. Also watched Hannah W's video about how she handles procurement, and my confidence grew greater, and then watched the video of the young man that designs the packaging! So this is how I made my decision, to buy American made, and I trust a simply better product. So far what I unpacked has met my expectations. If the product is anything less than stellar I'll update my review.”

Cooking using the PRO 2 allows you to save the cooking info and use it again and again to replicate the results
I am using it on the Kamado Joe Jr. running the fan at 25% maximum and it works so well. Tried a few fan settings before settling on 25%
Didnt need to use any special templates to fit the fan. All just fits simply with no fuss

“I’ve done about a dozen cooks with the FB2 pro and it is amazing, set temp locks in and it is really accurate. The probes are thin and easy to accurately place in the meat. The ambient probe keeps the grill locked in on temp and doesn’t overcompensate when the lid is raised to baste or turn or adjust the charcoal. The fan seems more than adequate to provide the proper amount of fresh air, even on start up. The WiFi and app are great, I don’t have to hover over the grill when I’m cooking. The FB2 pro does everything and more than advertised.
I would highly recommend this to anyone that is slow cooking in a Kamado or smoker.”
