“Wow, everything I hoped a Fireboard probe would be.
After having gone through most multiple-probe thermometers some years ago I discovered the original Fireboard, and it has been my trusty BBQ companion ever since. Not only is the device just about perfect, but the mobile and Web app support is light-years beyond anything else.

I've often hoped Fireboard would come out with an instant-read probe, and when the Spark came out I jumped on it as an early birthday present for myself. And the implementation is beyond what I expected. Super-fast, accurate readings (yep, first thing I did was test accuracy). But beyond that the details are fabulous. The haptic feedback when I'm reaching into the oven; the listing of previous readings on the screen...
The integration with my existing Fireboard setup is seamless. I love that I can use it as a remote display of the temps on my Fireboard outside at the BBQ.
FedEx totally botched the shipping, but the great service folks at Fireboard took care of me. I've contacted them in the past regarding my older Fireboard and their support continues to be excellent.
Innovative product, built like a Sherman tank, designed and made by folks in Kansas City. What's not to love?”
“Have been a user of FireBoard 1 for a few years and love it. Jumped at this because it has many of the same features, but also is an instant read. Simpler to set up for a single probe use like cooking steaks. Tried it for the first time cooking steaks in an M16 MGrill. Used a plug-in probe to monitor temp with the thermometer providing a large, clear display. As the steaks got closer to being done I used the folding probe to sample the other steaks. Very convenient. Only issue us when I first plugged the probe in it took a while to register on the display.
Like the Spark a lot as an instant read thermometer. A little bigger and heavier than a Thermapen, but also a more substantial product. Has an aluminum frame and better display. Only complaint is the user menu is not intuitive to use.”
“Have only had a chance so far to really utilize this as an instant read thermometer but am really liking what I see so far.
As a left handed person I really love the fact that the display screen rotates to whatever angle you are holding it at. The unit is a bit bigger than other instant read thermometers but I do not see that as an issue. It has a really solid build, easy to access charging and external probe ports.
I am new to the Fireboard world but I will definitely be picking up a Fireboard 2 to work along with this. Love that it can act as a secondary temp screen for the F2. I do not fully understand what the use of NFC is for on this but I look forward to learning more in the future. The fold out temp probe feels really solid as well. I really look forward to utilizing the other features of this thing.”
