“I recently completed the Girls Gone Strong (GGS-1) Women’s Coaching Specialist Certification and found it to be one of the most comprehensive and practical education programs available for professionals working with women.
What sets GGS-1 apart is its evidence-based, interdisciplinary approach. The curriculum goes far beyond exercise and nutrition, covering women-specific physiology, psychology, behavior change, coaching skills, recovery, pelvic health, hormones, body image, and life-stage considerations.
The material is well organized, easy to follow, and immediately applicable in real-world coaching. I especially appreciated the strong emphasis on understanding the unique needs of women and helping clients create sustainable, long-term results rather than relying on quick fixes.
Whether you are a personal trainer, nutrition coach, health professional, or wellness practitioner, GGS-1 provides valuable tools, confidence, and expertise to better support female clients. I highly recommend this certification to anyone who wants to deepen their knowledge of women’s health and become a more effective coach.”
Petya, your emphasis on practical application and women-specific coaching makes your experience so meaningful to read.
The Women's Coaching Specialist Certification was created to fill the gap left by traditional fitness and health education, and it sounds like the combination of physiology, psychology, behavior change, pelvic health, and life-stage considerations gave you tools you could immediately apply in your coaching. That focus on helping women create sustainable, long-term results is a cornerstone of our interdisciplinary women's health education approach.
Knowing the material felt both comprehensive and easy to follow while building your confidence as a coach is wonderful feedback. Thank you for sharing such a thoughtful recommendation!

“I really enjoyed the course, I finished feeling that I know so much more about coaching women. Not just that, actually, I finished feeling that I know more about just being around women.
My only criticism is that I'm a man doing this course, and it felt that the course is for women who coach women. I could be wrong, I didn't see it advertised anywhere that the course is for women who coach women, but that was how the course felt. I coach girls and women at football and wanted to do the course to understand how to be better for them, and whilst the course achieved that fantastically, I do feel that possibly a bit silly that I shouldn't have done this course because I'm a man.”
Ben, thank you for sharing such a thoughtful perspective.
The fact that you finished the Women's Coaching Specialist Certification feeling better equipped to coach the girls and women you work with is exactly why this Certification exists. And to be clear, the Women's Coaching Specialist Certification is designed for anyone who works with women, regardless of gender. Many male coaches have completed the Certification and shared that it helped them better support their female clients and create stronger, more trusting coaching relationships.
Your note about the Certification feeling written primarily for women is a fair one. That said, choosing to deepen your understanding of the girls and women you coach reflects the kind of curiosity, care, and professionalism that helps women feel better supported!
Coaches, like you, who proactively seek to understand the women they work with help raise the standard of care for everyone, and we're grateful you're doing that work.

“This course greatly enhanced my knowledge to be able to help women. I appreciate real books and workbooks for learning and helping to retain.
The videos were informative and relatable. The quizzes every chapter help you to know what you might need to review. The material is easy to read, with some humor as well. I have not taken a better course. Others I have done through different providers did not leave me with knowledge I could apply.
I will definitely be taking every course that GGS offers.”
Thank you for sharing this, Angie.

“It was pricey but overall is what was a good certification. I loved that the course is self paced. The material was laid out well and very thorough. At the expense of trying to be inclusive, my only complaint was the statement "if you FEEL like a woman then you are a woman and to me that's quite offensive. Women are more than a feeling, make-up or wearing women's clothing. Our bodies go through many challenging changes and if you weren't born a female you have no right to "claim" womanhood. I feel like a certification for training women should at least be just about 100% training women who are born women. The main premise of the certification is learning how to coach the woman in front in you. The certification delves into the differences in our bodies, hormones and how they impact a woman's health fitness journey.”
Thank you for putting this into words, Crystal.
It’s helpful to hear how the Women’s Coaching Specialist Certification felt structured, thorough, and flexible with the self-paced format, especially as you worked through the material. That kind of design is a key part of an evidence-based women’s health and fitness certification that’s meant to be both comprehensive and usable.
Your feedback around inclusivity is also noted, and it’s an important perspective within broader conversations in women’s health and coaching.
