I want to get another bottle as I finished it off a month or so ago and don't recall the vinegar being as aggressive as some suggest but I love garlic and the slight sweetness of the syrup just won me over and is all I can recall. It has a great heat that allowed me to use a decent amount and really kick up my meal without killing myself like i do with some of the hotter stuff.

If you are a fan of a strong vinegar bite to your hot sauces, you are a couple steps ahead towards liking this sauce. I was looking for one that had some good heat and a good garlic flavor and... I mean, I got that, but first you have to get over the speed bump of that vinegar. And, for me, it's just too much of a bump. I think the sauce is alright. I will finish the bottle, but this won't be a repeat-purchase for me.

To me, this is a bit more than a 6 out of 10. I sometimes can't tell the difference between this and another Carolina Reaper sauce that I own heat level wise. Be prepared for it to last. The sauce tastes great on burgers and steaks, mixed with A1 or ketchup, and goes well with other sandwiches. However, after awhile unfortunately the vinegar flavor does start to wear thin and doesn't seem as enjoyable.

Very Unpleasant bitter vinegar taste/ feeling on first bite, i do love vinegar & also pickled foods but THIS was way too much, i genuinely had to check the label to see if they had given me a spoiled bottle or something... it's such a shame because once the nasty taste has gone it has quite a nice underlying flavour & quite a bit of heat it definitely creeps up on you, if they ever decide to reformulate this and take out the nasty opening, i will give it 4 stars, but for now it gets 2, won't be buying again.

I have purchased this sauce multiple times. If you are a hot sauce fan and put it on everything, you will run out of it fast. I suggest getting 2 bottles. I love black pepper and this just takes the crown for me. With a hint of garlic, this will definitely take you on a joyful ride to flavor town. I think the maple syrup also gives it a slight sweetness and gives this sauce a very distinct flavor you will enjoy. The smoked taste of the Reaper really combines the flavors. The sauce is not very thick, so please be careful when pouring on your food and/or adding to other sauces. It has a delayed heat that builds up quickly. I gave it a 4 instead of a 5 because of the price and quantity you get. It should be 9-10 dollars for 5 FL OZ.

Picked this one up as my first foray into Heatonist, and was absolutely delighted with my selection! The flavor of garlic is unmistakable yet subtle enough to take a backseat to the main course; I find no matter what I put this sauce on the black garlic always finds its way into the flavor profile as a welcome finish. The heat might be unbearable for the spicy-sensitive, but if you like to regularly take a trip into the wilder side then this sauce will satisfy you without singing your nostrils. I like to add this one to chicken recipes, lentils, and a touch on my morning eggs goes a long way. But so far it pairs well with almost anything. If you like a kick and you like garlic then you can't go wrong with this one.

What hits you first with this sauce isn't the heat, it's the vinegar. Frankly, it'll turn some people off. The garlic comes next and the wonderful, lingering heat of the Reaper hits you at the end. If you don't love vinegar, it'll be hard to get past the initial flavor, but once you do, it's a tasty, garlicky sauce. It's thick and dark, great for burgers and other red meat. Sort of like A1 with a big-ass kick. I don't think I would buy it again - the vinegar hit isn't my thing, but I really do appreciate the complex garlic flavor - definitely different from the rest of the pack.
