Its not very spicy but has a kick, the taste though is outstanding. I don't like onions generally but love this sauce.

This is now my favorite hot sauce. The smoked onions add incredible flavor and the heat is present, but not extreme. I ran out in a week and am ordering more.

I've tried 4 Sauces from Heatonist selections so far. Smoked Onion was my favorite. Spice Tolerance: Definitely the first half, though I do love a good Hot Sauce. Sauces I've tried. -Smoked Onion by Butterly Bakery of Vermont. *It's familiar, yet it stands out from other classic hot sauces. It has great flavors and heat on its own. I love the versatility, but the heat doesn't come through as much when paired with food. I did used it up in a week though. I really liked it with Bagels and Cream Cheese. -Ancho & Morita by Humble House. On its own, it's too strong. When paired with food, it quickly became my second favorite. I wish it was little more spicier. It's great with Mac & Cheese. - Secret Aardvark Habanero Sauce. It's good. I just reach for the smoked onion more. Just a personal preference. Spice level is little higher though. - Dirty Dick's Hot Sauce. *It has great punch of flavors... for first 2 seconds! Then it quickly subsides in flavors. It lacks follow through. So Meh.

Of all the hot sauces I’ve tried, I think this one might be the most versatile. I’ve had it on eggs, poutine, pizza, pasta and burgers and it is fantastic on all of them. It has good heat but it never takes away from the flavour. Up there with Dirty Dick’s Bahamian sauce, Hot Ones Classic and Queen Majesty Habenero Black coffee on my Hot Saice Mt. Rushmore

This sauce blows tabasco out of the water. It has 3 main ingredients, but the way they cook it gives it a far more complex flavor. The smoked onion is deep, woody, smokey, and adds such a great depth of flavor. The sauce is nice and a tiny bit hot, but never overpowering. The only downside to this sauce, if you can even call it a downside, is that you will be using quite a bit on your food to get the full flavor. I'd always use this on breakfast burritos, dousing my next bite until it runs red. It's really easy to run out of this stuff, so you have to be careful not to use too much at once if you're looking to space it out. You could also buy a bunch of them and sauce with reckless abandon. Honestly, if you were to buy a sauce that you'd put on everything like Tabasco, this would be the sauce you'd want to replace it with. That's why I call it a Tabasco killer.

Props too Heatonist very well packed and fast shipment. It is a very good flavor. We tried it on scrambled eggs at room temperature. Our initial response was this is very tastey and not too spicy nor sweet. We could use this with salad dressings, a dip or splash on pasta or pizza, and perhaps soups. We liked it more after refidgeration. Really brings out different notes. We recommend it and will be buying this again.

Good smokey onion flavor, but the sweetness is too much. Overbearing sweetness in savory dishes. Also, the consistency is basically Thai chile garlic sauce..it’s a glaze, so wings and that’s it for me.
