First impressions are incredibly important when evaluating hot sauces because the palate goes nuclear almost immediately resulting in muted flavor receptors for a time. This Calabrian hot sauce has an exquisite first impression: solid, savory heat, not too sweet, with a natural texture indicative of the original chili. It is SO good.

It has a rich and robust flavor. Ended up falling in love with this sauce and am in process if buying more (stopped to leave a review) it is a great wing sauce as well as hust a dipping sauce.

The spice level is good but the flavor is not there. It’s very tomato-y. It’s not bad but not great.

I cook a lot of Italian food and definitely enjoy my sauces to have a kick. This stuff is delicious and I’m so happy to have found it.

Very mild in the heat department, but any amazing flavor. My new go to whenever I eat pizza

I’m not sure I like this as a hot sauce for dipping or putting on top of anything. It’s a very strong flavor… it’s almost more garlic forward which some people would take a plus but I feel it outshines the flavor of the chili itself. I do, however think it’s an excellent addition to any Italian based flavored sauce or soup… good spice level.

I'm not a heat snob, I absolutely have upper limits, and am perfectly fine with mild sauces like Cholula, Franks, etc. But this might be the mildest mild sauce I've ever had. The primary ingredient is bell peppers, which have no capsaicin. It basically tastes like a marinara sauce with a little kick, and even then I've had spicier marinara. Two stars because the flavor is nice, but I absolutely would not call this a hot sauce and I'm not sure what I'm going to use it up on. I guess it might be good for dipping mozzarella sticks in?

I’m so sorry this sauce wasn’t for you! This is definitely a mild sauce that was designed for people of all different heat levels. You might want to double the amount you use! ;-) If you'd like a suggestion for something more to your taste, send an email to ilovehotsauce@heatonist.com

This has replace crushed red pepper on pizza for us. Just enough garlic, tomato, and heat to make even the worst delivery pizza divine!
