About Jaques of London:
In 1795 Thomas Jaques took on his 15-year-old son, John as an apprentice. Together they established ‘Thomas Jaques: Manufacturer of Ivory, Hardwoods, Bone and Tunbridge Ware’ in Hatton Garden. We have remained a family run business ever since, with the same unwavering passion for quality games and toys.

Today we are ever-expanding our toy range and have been honoured with over 10 awards in the past five years as a result. Our Mini Minds Hub launched in 2020 to encourage learning at home. This is now stocked with over 150 free resources. We’ve been working for over 230 years to fill the world with more joy and we hope to keep striving for that goal long into the future. Why not come along for the trip with us!

My husband has been wanting a set of draughts for a while and when I found this set online I decided to order it. I have to say that the quality of the board and the pieces is excellent. I am sure that it will be in use in the family for many years

What a beautiful set. The natural wood really make it a pleasure to look at as well as to play. My granddaughter loved it.

Love Jacques and their heritage and of course the games. We have multiple sets from you and always pull them out when everyone is together. Only request is for the box to be stronger so we can store the games in the original packaging forever. Even pass them on as our collective legacy.

Our grandchildren Violet 8 and Oliver,7, were delighted by the chess and draught sets and are enthusiastic players of both chess and draughts. The size of the chess pieces make it easy for little hands to manipulation them.
