About Jaques of London:
In 1795 Thomas Jaques took on his 15-year-old son, John as an apprentice. Together they established ‘Thomas Jaques: Manufacturer of Ivory, Hardwoods, Bone and Tunbridge Ware’ in Hatton Garden. We have remained a family run business ever since, with the same unwavering passion for quality games and toys.

Today we are ever-expanding our toy range and have been honoured with over 10 awards in the past five years as a result. Our Mini Minds Hub launched in 2020 to encourage learning at home. This is now stocked with over 150 free resources. We’ve been working for over 230 years to fill the world with more joy and we hope to keep striving for that goal long into the future. “Delivered 4 days from order, no problem there. Went to open the box & the lid dropped off causing all 120 chips to scatter all over the floor. I repaired the box with some super glue & is now OK. I do think a minimum amount of glue was used when the box was made hence the problem. The goods are high quality & at a bargain price.”

“So much nicer to play with than modern plastic chips, not as easily soiled as bone, not as unsound as ivory, not highly flammable like celluloid, far less expensive than bakelite. These are really good, weighty, solid, old-fashioned clay chips that feel wonderful in the hand and will last a lifetime Well worth getting a set if you like playing gambling games at home.”
