About Jaques of London:
In 1795 Thomas Jaques took on his 15-year-old son, John as an apprentice. Together they established ‘Thomas Jaques: Manufacturer of Ivory, Hardwoods, Bone and Tunbridge Ware’ in Hatton Garden. We have remained a family run business ever since, with the same unwavering passion for quality games and toys.

Today we are ever-expanding our toy range and have been honoured with over 10 awards in the past five years as a result. Our Mini Minds Hub launched in 2020 to encourage learning at home. This is now stocked with over 150 free resources. We’ve been working for over 230 years to fill the world with more joy and we hope to keep striving for that goal long into the future. Why not come along for the trip with us!

This is a great educational toy. Well made. My grandson enjoys making words and is helping him with his spelling. Great for helping with his maths too. Very pleased with product.

Very disappointed in this product: quality and thought process. Arrived beautifully packaged and very excited to open and use. However: 1) With first use, marks not rubbing well off either board, left stains that very difficult to remove as well as scratches after using eraser - despite using only the pen, chalk and eraser that came with the set! Thought maybe the pen was the problem but when used my own whiteboard marker, the same problem. Stains keep building in the scratches also. 2) The border of the reversible board is wood, which means it marks up permanently extremely easily, especially with the whiteboard marker. 3) Only one of each letter/ number so in practice cant really do any significant word making and limited number problems. Great product as an idea but in practice not very well thought out and very poor quality. Only used 3 times and already looks like it needs replacing. Regret buying it but even after first use in no condition to be returned. Surprised at how many positive reviews there are....many people seem to have bought it as a gift so wondering maybe they havent used it themselves or whether I got unlucky with the quality control?
