Bought for a big trip we were going on recently. Just didn't work. Tried every setting. Worked maybe 3 times out of 300 tries.

Great device but sometimes the buttons don't work and you have to restart the machine. Also, the precut bags work well but the rolls are a wider size and don't always get vacuumed out properly before it seals. Maybe it's me or maybe my fish are too big for the machine. . The more I am using it the better I am getting at positioning the bags and hence getting better results.

The gadget works well..once you figure out the sequence of buttons to press and when the process is actually finished ! For dummies like me just show the sequence and mention that once the "Seal" light is off, things are finished and you can open the thing. I don't care how great it is to put a shark in a bag etc, rather the nitty gritty stuff explained....while I am at it, make sure the bag lines up nice'n flat, else the vacuum pump will go until the cows come home.

The unit isnt as heavy as it looks, has a nice simple design. Came with an additional set of seals (nice touch) and does a good job with the sealing and creates a good vacuum. Really like the fact I can interrupt the vacuum cycle at any time to have it commence sealing. This is really handy when I start seeing moisture heading towards the seal to ensure a clean dry seal is made.

Just bought this unit and at first glance, it works perfectly; just make sure you press the lid down and then lock, something I was not doing at firs, resulting in some frustrations ! I just noticed that when using the "seal only" function, I can hear the vacuum pump activated for just a split of a second; only the "seal only" indicator is lit, so probably of no consequences. I wonder if other people have made the same observation. It looks like this gadget is going to be very useful. I know a butcher in Central Victoria which sells some fantastic eye filets, and cheaper than what I can get in Melbourne ... so I am going to make the most of it !!! The portability of this unit is another plus. A hard copy of a service manual would be welcome.
