“The training class environment was subjectively poor. There were construction workers that were drilling through walls and having loud music which really disturbed the learning experience. Also, the restrooms were all digitally locked, so every time I would use the restroom, I would have to take a piece of paper with the code and plug it in. These are just extra steps that are not necessary. I understand that any business wants to minimize costs on every level possible, that at some point you have to weigh the tradeoff between learning quality and learning environment since both are correlated to each other to some degree. Please make sure next time that the building is ready for a training class!”

“The instructor, Rob, was fantastic! He brought real world experience to the class and the content. It was wonderful to see how projects created in this class can be brought to life. However, the only thing that could be improved upon is the training center. It felt a small and dingy, but this was soon overlooked as Rob is an engaging and wonderful instructor.”

“I took a similar course a few years ago and this one is definitely better than my previous experience. However, I think if you really are interested in helping people learn and retain the information, then there should be an ongoing learner project that participants complete throughout the course where they have to create a project and apply each skill learned and at the end of class they have a completed project - no matter how simple or elementary it may be. It seems like in this course as well as previous similar courses I've taken, that is what's missing. The standard teaching method seems to be a workbook which shows step-by-step actions, the instructor basically demonstrates those actions and the learner mimics what the instructor does, but there is rarely time built in for the learner to then do the practice the same skills from scratch and apply to a separate project/file. This would definitely improve the training experience.”

“The on boarding process was interesting - I had to intervene on behalf of the Broomfield Workforce Center representative because the onboarding rep was not communicating with her. As I understand it several emails were sent from Broomfield to the coordinator (Jennifer) and we heard nothing. In our class we had three people. The other two worked in Captivate and I had never seen Captivate until I walked into the class. It was intimidating day one and I felt that I was too far behind. I read the materials at home last night and felt much better today. I must say that I certainly have my work cut out for me to learn this better before the Advanced section starts on May 29. The instructor was very helpful and willing to assist in many ways. Carma is personable and interested in the students grasping the materials. I wish I had two more days :)”
