“Happy that our order arrived on time and healthy, they are all growing fast!
That being said, I’d be wary of ordering this rare “assortment” in the future though, because we have literally no way of telling (at least until they are a few months of age) what breeds we received.
The identification pictures are somewhat helpful, but lack anything to show scale/size, and are somewhat low resolution. Tons of baby chicks of different breeds look EXACTLY alike!

“I ordered five of the rare assortment along with several other chickens that I picked out. I was very excited to see what I would get. The selection of chickens they sent me turned out to even surpass my expectations! I was sent a Black Sumatra, a Golden Laced Wynadotte, a Silver-laced Wynadotte, a Buckeye and a Frost White Legbar!!!!! I really didn't expect that last chicken as it isn't on the list of possible chickens but I was very happy to receive it! All my chicks are doing very well and arrived happy and healthy!”
“I ordered 4 chicks from the rare breed assortment. Unfortunately 1 arrived dead, but I live in WA state and that is a long trip for small chicks to travel cross country. When I reported the issue to MyPetChicken, they promptly made it right by refunding my money. When another of my chicks started presenting with a leg problem, they even offered to pro-rate my shipping for the 2 birds. I guess I‚Äôm used to bad costumer service where the company blames you when it‚Äôs not your fault, but MyPetChicken has been 100% the opposite. They have done everything they can to make this right. Next time I order, I will probably order a few more than 4 chicks so there‚Äôs a better chance of survival in a cross-country trip.
As for the chicks themselves, I highly recommend the assortment rare breeds. It’s fun to see what you get that are rare (and possibly sold out) at a fraction of the cost. It would be a great way to go next time I’m ready for chicks.

1 Silver Laced Wyandotte pullet.
At the time I ordered, the Wyandotte was not on the list (but it is now). I didn't really mind, I was happy to have her, but still be prepared to potentially get something off list. All arrived very healthy and active! Not a single loss!”
