“Such a good girl! Beautiful, friendly and an all around nice bird. She lays big cream/light brown eggs. As s little chick, I wondered how many dark flecks she would have but it turns out she is pure white with ONE dark fleck on the top of her head. :) I'd definitely recommend this breed.”
“Couldn't figure out how to update my review, but my girls are nearing ten months around now, and my Austra White is still the best. She is a gorgeous and dependable layer, and her feathers get prettier and prettier than shown here. She did go broody for awhile, however I recognize every bird is different because they're individuals. I'm more than happy to throw a few eggs/chicks under her this summer, hopefully including some more Austra Whites because they're the best. Sidenote: she also comes up for hugs and loves sitting on my shoulder and spending time together in general. She escapes the coop constantly, but always because she's right next to me wherever I am. Added to that, she puts herself away when she's done and is very well behaved. Easiest bird to handle.”
“We have a small mixed flock (just chickens) and the Austrawhite is hands down the best. She's sweet, curious, and lays extra large cream colored eggs every day. She's a machine!”
“For my first flock, I ordered Australorps (8 pullets, 1 cockerel) and at the last moment, 4 Austra white pullets. They're now going on 18 weeks (no eggs yet) and have dusk to dawn access to a 45 foot run. I've noticed that the Australorps are very docile, including the rooster, but the Austra whites tend to be a bit more assertive and a bit aggressive to their coopmates. I watch them fluff out their neck feathers and charge at any of the other hens or the rooster. An occasional peck, but nothing beyond that. Other than that, I'm looking forward to see, if I ever get a broody, what comes of an Australorp rooster and an Austra white hen.
All the chooks come running to eat a handful of mealworms from my hand.”
“I only got one of these girls as a last minute throw in, and I can't be happier. This is hands down my favorite baby, the most curious and inquisitive girl out of the bunch. She is beautiful and sweet, and loves to be pet. I'll always have Austra Whites in my flock- for the rest of time.”
“Dottie is a very calm, sweet hen who lays large, cream colored (almost slightly pinkish) eggs almost every day. She is the leader of the pack but isn‚Äôt a bully. She is social and sweet - highly recommend this breed!”
