“My blue favaucana is a little bitty chick. She's a little more skiddish than some of the others I got, but she's super sweet and warming up nicely. I thinks she's going to be a beauty!”
“Looks exactly like little black hawks, with iridescent green in the sun. Squawk very loudly all the time. Happy little girls. Bought 15 chicks last fall and 13 survived to laying age...pretty great if you ask me! Will be ordering again.”
We're delighted to hear that you're enjoying the chicks and that they bring you joy. It's wonderful that they resemble little hawks with beautiful iridescent green feathers in the sunlight. We hope their squawking brings lively and spirited energy to your surroundings.
“Miss Myrtle is the sweetest little lady out of the 6 in my flock! She was a snuggly grey floof that looked like a little cloud. I put my hand into their playpen & she’d step up into it, nestle in, and make the sweetest little peeps until she fell asleep. She has grown to be a beautiful grey with a dark charcoal head, lightly feathered feet, and the sweetest fluffy cheeks and beard. She’s so polite when taking treats and loves to cuddle. She will sit in your lap for hours if you let her, and RUNS to get to us the second we walk towards the coop and screams at us excitedly- definitely my loudest lady! She recently started laying a beautiful light greenish blue egg with speckles and/or camo pattered. I added her onto my order when she popped up as a cancellation & she ended up being my favorite, my flock wouldn’t be the same without her! Thank you for this beautiful, incredibly sweet, healthy, and happy baby.”

We truly appreciate your support.
“Was waiting for my favaucana to start laying eggs to leave a review - she just started laying beautiful blue eggs in the dead of winter! In terms of personality, she’s pretty skiddish but fine once you pick her up. She also sounds like an old smoker which I love, and looks exactly like the picture. She started laying pretty much at the 6-month mark. Highly recommend the breed!”
Thank you for sharing your experience with this great breed. You are quite lucky to get a blue egg (often they are green) but either way, Favaucanas are beautiful and often have a sweet personality.
“If you like the sweet personality of the Salmon Faverolles this is a bird you want to add to your flock! My fava laid the prettiest aqua colored egg, very distinct compared to the other hens in the coop (green queens and marans). It definitely has a green tint to it but it is so BRIGHT I wish I could get a photo to come out showing the color!”
“Despite ‘My Pet Chicken’ shipping these lovely chickens properly and with heat packs, USPS did not pay special attention and the chicks passed away enroute due to below freezing temperatures. The heat packs were still hot but the chicks were very cold and it is suspected that they were in the back of the truck with temperatures in the low 20s. The chicks were precious and it was a very sad day.”
